Instead of emulating these amp sounds, the English Muff’n uses vacuum tubes to achieve the sonic character of British amps. A pedal with a solid metal housing and a dual tube preamp, equipped with 2 EHX 12AY7 tubes, which can be replaced with 12AX7 tubes for more distortion, or
12AU7 tubes for less distortion. This is not a simple overdrive; it works wonders with solid-state amps and is extremely versatile with tube amps.
