The effects are powered by the newly designed ZFX-3 DSP chip, guaranteeing low latency, extremely fast program switching, and wide frequency response.
For the past 25 years, Zoom has been at the forefront of multi-effect development, particularly successful with its stompbox-sized MultiStomp series. This time, they have launched two multi-effects with excellent value for money, LCD displays, and plastic housing, under the model names G1on and G1Xon. The effects are powered by the newly designed ZFX-3 DSP chip, guaranteeing low latency, extremely fast program switching, and wide frequency response.
The G1on offers 100 different guitar effects, including various overdrives, compressors, modulation effects, delays, reverbs, and amp simulators. The G1Xon includes five additional effects controllable by a pedal.
When using Zoom pedals, a total of 5 effects can be used simultaneously, and the effect chain can be arranged in any order. The pedals include 68 built-in accompaniment patterns, and headphones and a music player can be connected for silent practice. Further features include a chromatic onboard tuner that supports all standard guitar tunings, and a looper that can record 30 seconds (or 64 bars) of CD-quality audio. Loops can also be recorded to any rhythm pattern with automatic quantization. Thanks to the modern user interface and the large, illuminated LCD display, programming the multi-effect is simple and easy to learn.
Advanced functions such as Copy and Swap allow you to arrange the saved patches in the order you want to use them during live performance. The Auto Save function ensures that edited settings are saved automatically, and the Pre Select function allows you to silently browse through saved patches while the currently used setting remains active. The expression pedal of the G1Xon can be used to adjust the input and output signal levels, as well as any selected effect parameter.
