The hit speaker of the 70s for sale in excellent refurbished condition.
Back then, it was an entry-level HI-FI speaker in England.
The refurbishment refers to re-foaming the mid-woofers, and work on the crossovers and wiring.
The aged electrolytic capacitors in the crossovers have been replaced with high-quality non-polar capacitors.
The old electrical wires used for speaker connections have been replaced with OFC (oxygen-free) copper wire.
And this modification gave wings/sound to the little boxes!
Noticeable sound differences:
1. Clear, controlled bass and midrange.
2. Treble might not be more, but is somewhat clearer, livelier.
3. Spatial reproduction has significantly increased.
4. Clear, uncluttered soundstage, instruments and musicians are in their places.
5. Increased sense of stage depth!
Now it can be considered truly HI-FI (I don't understand the past judgment of the sophisticated English! /
The boxes can be said to be in excellent condition, they only differ in their external polishing.
Although their original polish is intact!
I corrected the identical appearance and look with a synthetic coating.
Almost imperceptible, only noticeable on the back.
