The Telefunken tube stuff is widely used (perhaps thanks to Abbey Rd, The Beatles). The V676 is a solid state version of the V76. IMHO, they are not very similar, but the V676 is an excellent mic pre. I have a racked pair and they are wonderful for drums and guitar. They have 70+ db of gain, so you can use them with ribbon mics. T elefunken V676a = 70+ dB of mic gain, 10dB steps w/ 10dB fine trim, 18dB of Line gain, 0-18dB trim. Very airy and open, nice for ribbon microphones and recording rock guitar and drums, etc.

To make a connection to psu and audio easy, it comes with an additional DIN 31-pin female counter connector. A rack that fits with the module, Vintage Rack LR55 - holds up to 8 Telefunken Units: 200 EUR
