Description
huendeskesFor sale: a Seymour Duncan BMP-1 Blackouts Modular Preamp.
It turns passive pickups into active ones, but it matters what you connect: according to the manufacturer, it provides 70% Blackouts sound and 30% the pickup's own sound. So you can have custom active pickups. It can control two 4-wire humbuckers, so they can also be wired for splitting. The volume pot is integrated with the small preamp, and you need to screw in the wires with a tiny screwdriver. This way, to change pickups, you only need to unscrew, allowing you to try out more things.
Box contents:
- BMP-1 Blackout Modular Preamp (integrated into volume pot)
- 25k push-pull tone pot with coil split
- 47 capacitor
- stereo jack socket
- 9V battery cable
- 9V battery
- screwdriver
- installation manual
You can hear how it sounds in an Epiphone Les Paul Standard with a pair of cheap Wilkinson MWHBs (splittable, ceramic magnet) in my video below:
The neck pickup is splittable, you can hear it in the sound sample.
