Kawai's latest CN series model, the CN25, among other things, features a realistic 88-key action, a beautiful grand piano sound, and headphone jacks so as not to disturb family members or neighbors while practicing - everything is found in this great and attractive instrument that never needs tuning.
In addition, it perfectly simulates the touch and sound of an acoustic piano. The Kawai CN25 offers a range of additional features that can be well applied by pianists of different skill levels. The useful tutorial function helps the enthusiastic pianist perfect their skills with classical etudes and well-known pieces from Alfred, Beyer, Czerny, or Burgmüller's teaching books. Concert Magic encourages even complete beginners to create music with rhythms. The new CN series is the first in Responsive Hammer III (RH3) technology, which creates the perfect touch/action simulating an acoustic grand piano. Realistic action and a stringless system allow for a refined and natural piano playing experience. The instrument's modern 3-sensor system enhances feedback and velocity sensitivity for key presses, helping to minimize horizontal key movement during staccato and fortissimo playing styles. The key weight is precisely graded, reflecting the bass and treble hammers of an acoustic piano, and the let-off simulation provides the subtle notch/trigger feel when gently pressing the keys of a grand piano. These important characteristics ensure that the practiced pianist can confidently practice their repertoire and be sure there will be no surprises when the pianist has to play on the finest acoustic grand piano.

The impressive CN25 also features Kawai's developed and highly regarded Ivory Touch key surface. The finely textured material gently absorbs fingerprint sweat and oils to help control key play. It has a natural matte finish that is smooth but not slippery. Furthermore, absorbed moisture does not cause any staining, allowing the key surface to be wiped clean easily and simply with a damp cloth.

When playing a quality piano, the amount of key press not only affects the volume of the sound, but also imparts different tonal characteristics to each note. The EX concert grand piano's realistic acoustic portrait is created by documenting not only each key but also by creating different volume levels, ranging from the softest pianissimo to the thunderous fortissimo. The new CN series provides a precisely outlined acoustic image using Kawai's Progressive Harmonic Imaging technique, ensuring a smooth tonal transition across the keyboard throughout the full dynamic range.
Each key is documented individually, preserving the richness and harmonic character of the EX concert grand piano. This guarantees that the audible sound produced after pressing any key on the CN25 during play is an accurate representation of the original acoustic piano.

The advantages of a quality acoustic piano are well known to an experienced piano technician (tuner). The technician tunes and intonates each note with meticulous care, resulting in perfect sound. The CN25's Virtual Technician function digitally simulates these refinements, allowing the pianist to shape different aspects of the piano's character to suit their personal, unique preferences.

The new Vocal Assist function provides instructions to help you easily find the function you are looking for. Additionally, Sound Preview helps you easily find any sound. The new CN25 has a song recording function that enhances playing enjoyment and helps with piano learning. The CN25's useful recording capability allows you to store and play back 3 songs with the press of a single button.
With USB-to-Host connectivity, you can connect your instrument to a computer or other devices via the MIDI connector.
