This 40-watt guitar combo uses the classic 4xEL34 configuration. Its clean channel has a separate EQ (bass, treble), allowing you to achieve crystal-clear tones or warmer bluesy sounds. Channels 2 and 3 share an EQ (bass, mid, treble) with a contour control for easier and simpler sound shaping. Additionally, using independent gain and volume for each of the two channels, you can switch between rhythm and lead playing with a single toggle. You can get everything from crunchy British tones to American-style sounds: Switching between channels is possible with switches on the front panel or a footswitch.
The HGT-A 40 guitar combo also features digital reverb and an effects loop. It has 2 output jacks for recording, producing a sound as if a 2x12 inch cabinet were miked - if you press the mute button, it still outputs the signal, a great solution for silent recording.
