Casio MG-510 1987
The legendary instrument from the Japanese Fuji Gen factory... (Japanese Fenders are still made here today.)
In my opinion, one of the best series Fender necks ever... with Gotoh tuners
Paired with a fantastic ceramic magnet pickup set, in a basswood body... this is the secret. (Tibusz still uses these pickups in his custom guitar today!)
The guitar wasn't a room decoration, it got natural relicing from use...
The maple neck has beautifully aged, wear and some dents make it unique.
The Fiesta Red body color has matured into a deep red, there are scratches, minor dents, and where the lacquer touched the body and hand, it has cracked nicely in the Closet Classic style.
The frets were replaced... but professionally. It got new Jumbo frets, they will be fine for a long time, but they received a safety polish.
The black metal parts have natural wear, some corrosion, the string trees are adjustable, not seized.
The truss rod works.
Sensational easy playability, low string action and string tension, it really invites you to play.
Round, balanced, fine Strat sound... goosebump-inducing crunch. Long sustain...
The bridge humbucker can be split with a switch, making it a full single coil.
It can be described as quiet due to thorough factory shielding.
The strings are perfectly buzz-free and unchoked, clear in every position.
With new D'Addario Hybrid Strings...
The Midi section also works... which is rare nowadays. Since the midi sound is delayed, it's more of a guitar technology historical curiosity today. But it's great as a tuner!
And the coolest part... I have its original 30-year-old cardboard box, and the original Casio batteries! :))
Thus, a collector's item...
