Made in Japan in the 80s.
Arion SCH-1 chorus pedals have long been popular for their beautiful clean, chiming, and fat sound. Many big names use them (Michael Landau, Scott Henderson, etc.).
In this case, the Fat Chorus is a factory-modified SCH-1 pedal.
It retains the brilliant modulation characteristics, but the tone pot works differently here in a slightly deceptive way compared to the base version..
On one jack output: Fully turned up, it produces the SCH-1 chorus sound, but turning the potentiometer back results first in a signal level boost, then a bass boost.
On the other jack output: Fully turned up, it produces the SCH-1 chorus sound, but turning the potentiometer back results only in a bass boost.
90% of Fat Choruses on the market are fakes. They usually transplant the circuitry of the SCH-1 or the current Sri Lanka-made SCH-Z series into their housings.
This pedal is completely original. The whole thing has been thoroughly checked. First version Fat Chorus, with a large Toshiba chip. The sound is fantastic, operation is completely silent. Practically a boost chorus, similar to Tech 21 pedals, but predates them by decades. Excellent for bass guitar due to its capabilities.
