Description
huendeskesFor sale: A classical guitar of unknown brand and origin, with an adjustable neck. Through my online research, I managed to find out the following about the instrument:
- the inscription "D.R.G.M" on the tuners stands for Deutsches Reich Gebrauchsmuster (Eng.: German Reich Registered Design) and refers to a type of German trademark used between 1891-1952. It is likely that the guitar was made in this era, in German territory;
- despite the absence of a label (anymore), it might be a mass-produced item, as the number 31 is stamped into the headstock;
I received the instrument from an elderly gentleman who kept it as a memento for many years after his son's death, so it's quite possible it's an early 20th-century vintage piece, preserved in very good condition.
The back of the top has delaminated by a few millimeters and a thin surface crack is also visible (see last picture). I have set the price accordingly.
If anyone can provide any information about the instrument, I would gladly receive it via private message, and I will add it to the description above.
Can be tested and picked up in Szeged.
