Here`s a 12 string Epiphone FT-85 Serenader from 1965. There were a couple of different configurations of this guitar. One of these being with a trapeze tailpiece and fixed bridge. This guitar has a standard acoustic bridge that strings through the back but it also features an adjustable saddle that makes it easier to change string height. I came up with the date code by judging numbers off of what Gibson was using at the time on their own guitars. These acoustics were made after Gibson acquired Epiphone and were building them at their Kalamazoo, Michigan factory. They are virtually identical to their Gibson counterparts. They feature spruce tops with a mahogany back and sides. Overall it is in very good condition albeit for a few cracks in the back that have been repaired. There are cracks on the rears of either shoulder and these have been glued and cleated. There is also a crack next to the treble side waist that has been cleated with some worming in the clearcoat right next to it. Below this there is a scratch in the finish and another crack underneath which is stable and doesn`t require attention at this time. In total there are 4 cracks in the back of this guitar. There is also a dimple in the clear coat on the underside of the neck. This is not noticeable while playing. Currently the action sits at 2/32˝ at the octave which is extremely low for any guitar and it plays beautifully. Other than this minute details the finish on this guitar looks very nice from the front with lots of weather checking due to age. It also comes with the original case.
