Kay (Teisco) - Yamaha Japan SG electric guitar for sale from the late 1960s!



A real SG rarity from Japan, from the 60s, from the pre-Gibson era. (Lawsuit era)

It still has the open book headstock, matching Gibson's, which was later changed for legal reasons. This makes it a rarity even within this model!



Japanese made, in excellent condition for its age. It only has a few minor scratches and small dings that are not even visible in the photos.



Incredibly resonant mature wood, with a loud unplugged sound, transparent sunburst finish that clearly shows the wood grain. The neck is straight, excellent to play, comfortable.



Everything is original on the guitar, the pickups are P90 single coil type, presumably "Toaster" pickups, with a very vintage sound! 22 frets, + zero fret, which is not common in this category. Two separate pickup selector switches. The electronics have also been serviced, everything works, no noise, no contact issues. The guitar has been professionally set up according to Gibson standards and works flawlessly. No fret buzz, etc.



If you crave the sound of the 60s at an affordable price, and want a stable, time-tested, truly unique instrument, then this is an excellent choice!
